Christmas and thanksgiving are just around the corner, and life is about to get busier. If I didn’t have enough on my plate, with keeping little people happy and healthy, now I have to give them delight and wonder and it is not even Thanksgiving!
I know some of you already have your Christmas decorations up. I am lucky to have normal decorations. Keeping up with my newly walking toddler while the older kids encourage his liveliness, we will, hopefully, get a tree before Christmas eve and take it down before Valentine’s day.
If you are like me, you already feel a longing to be close to Christ for the Holidays. As I remember all I have to be thankful for, I think of God loving me enough to make a plan that involved saving my needy soul. I look toward Christmas with a craving to experience the wonder of Christ.
I can look back on Holidays where I totally missed it. Where the parties, plays, and Christmas music all but drown the baby in the manger.
I do not want to miss Christ this year. I want to be close to Him and enjoy the fullness of the celebration of His life.
For the month of November, I am going to move purposefully close to Christ in prayer. I am going to lean into His word and rest upon His goodness.
Will you join me on this journey?
If so here is the challenge-
1. To purposefully meet with God daily
2. To meditate on a small portion of scripture daily
3. To remember thankfulness
4. To trust God with the anxiety in my heart that comes from the Holiday’s
If you want to draw intentionally close to Christ during the Holiday’s then join with me on this challenge!
If you are joining the challenge then leave a comment in the comments section and get your free Prayer Journal and tips for starting a prayer journal by signing up for my email newsletter.
